In Ogden, Utah, authorities raided the home of a 73-year-old animal hoarder and found 156 dogs and cats living in filthy, overcrowded conditions. Many animals were crammed into small boxes and surrounded by trash and rotten furniture. The stench was so bad that officers had to wear gas masks. The owner now faces 637 misdemeanor charges including animal cruelty and neglect. Most of the rescued pets have since been adopted with community support.
