Just days ago, our team rescued 20 cats — including very young and fragile kittens — from a serious hoarding situation in Mason County, Washington. In total, more than 80 cats were discovered living inside one home, with many confined behind a closed door in a single room. They had been living in overcrowded conditions, without proper medical care, and suffering from long-term neglect.
Although the owners eventually worked with local law enforcement and our Investigation & Rescue Team, the situation was both difficult and deeply distressing. We are grateful that these cats are now safe at the sanctuary, while others are being cared for by trusted partner rescues. We sincerely thank the Humane Society of Mason County, the Mason County Sheriff’s Office, and Center Valley Animal Rescue for their support and collaboration in this rescue.
Among the rescued animals are kittens only a few weeks old, just beginning to open their eyes. Many of the cats are dealing with ear and upper respiratory infections, but they are now receiving dedicated care from our medical team. Alongside treatment, they are being provided with nutritious food and gentle social interaction to help them recover and prepare for a brighter future. From now on, their lives will be filled with comfort, care, and compassion.
Your commitment to the animals made this rescue possible. While these beautiful cats are safe at the sanctuary, their road to recovery is just beginning. Please donate today to support their ongoing care, rescues just like this, and all our work to end animal cruelty.
